Korea Blockchain Week (KBW) 2024, an annual global festival focused on blockchain and Web3 technologies, was held from September 1 to 7 in Seoul. The week-long conference brought together over 13,000 crypto enthusiasts, leading projects, and industry experts from around the world. Among the standout projects, Roam grabbed attention by showcasing its leadership in DePIN (Decentralized Physical Network) and its innovative approach in leveraging blockchain technology to transform the WiFi user experience.
During the KBW 2024, Roam’s Co-founder YZ delivered a keynote presentation titled “Roam the World, Connect the People”. In his speech, YZ highlighted Roam’s latest technological breakthroughs and outlined the project’s future plans in expanding its service to South Korea. He emphasized Roam’s mission to unify over 600 million guest WiFi into one global decentralized network, offering users a secure and seamless network connection experience. This vision goes beyond the scope of traditional network communication, redefining the future of global WiFi connectivity through the use of Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) and Verifiable Credentials (VCs).
Roam’s presence at KBW 2024 was further strengthened by its sponsorship of two major side events. On September 5, Roam co-sponsored the “Fragmetric X Backpack Rendezvous”, a key networking event that fostered collaboration among blockchain professionals.The following day, Roam took part in the “Solana Spectrum in Korea” event as the official sponsor and a featured speaker. This gathering focused on how each project can synergize to enhance and expand the capabilities of Solana. As a project that has fully integrated all its on-chain transactions into the Solana Mainet, this event provided an ideal opportunity for Roam to share its in-depth insights and showcase the technological innovations it is contributing to the Solana community.
